Battlemaster

I am continuing to slowly paint my way through the mechs in the new Battletech box set. Most recently I finished this 'Battlemaster'.  If I remember correctly, at one time, the Battlemaster was biggest/toughest mech in the game. These days, I think he has been surpassed by a few even tougher mechs, but, as you can see from the photo, he still stand pretty tall!

It's another lovely sculpt from the box, possibly my favourite.

  1. I'm so jealous that you have the boxed game. Catalyst says mid January it should be out for everyone.

If you're getting close to having all the models painted, I want to point you in the direction of manufacturers making more modern looking Battletech minis.

  2. I think even back in the day the Atlas was the biggest mech in the game. The Battlemaster was up there though. Man, I miss those days, and for the record, the Warhammer was one of my favorites as well - along with the Rifleman and the Marauder.

  3. As a Battletech nerd ... the heaviest class, Assault mechs, went up to a maximum of 100 tons, and the Atlas is the 'poster boy' for that - 100 tons, slow, armoured like a brick and has a hell of a punch - the Battlemaster, though, while slightly lighter, is also in the Assault range, is pretty deadly and very resilient, and I'd probably choose it over the Atlas unless I knew things were going to be very much close range or physical slugging.

  4. I hope it won't be too long before I get my hands on one of these too.
    Yours looks great.
