Newest Recruits

I painted up a couple of new recruits for my colonial marines this weekend. These both come from the Stargrave Mercenaries box (with possible arms from the Troopers box). I am taking a 'Star Wars Approach' to this force, by which I mean that most of the soldiers are human with a smattering of aliens mixed in. Not only does this give the force some nice variety, but it means I can occasionally use those purple and magenta paints that don't get a lot of use!

  1. Looking good, Joe! Personally, I'm planning on using as many of the alien heads as possible for my models as they look fantastic! Saying that, that won't stop me from converting them into unique alien heads!

  5. Nice. I hope that is some Gaunt's Ghosts behind them! Best fictional novel series ever!

    1. Yup, near on the complete set. Just wish they'd put out the omnibus for the last two so I can have them all in the same format.

  6. I'm quite partial to Lucky too, and Shoggy. And surprisingly, Hark has really grown on me.

    1. Shoggy and Hark are great. I think my favourite book of the series is Guns of Tanith. Adare and Doyl's attempt to escape is probably one of my favorite scenes from all the books.
